Eligibility Requirements
A candidate in the CIA® or specialty certifications - CCSA™, CFSA™, CGAP™ - agrees to accept the conditions of the program, including eligibility, exam confidentiality, ethics and continuing professional development, along with other conditions enacted by The IIA's Board of Regents or Certification Department.

Membership: A individual must be a member of IIA-Australia.

Please note: Already certified but interested in gaining a further certification? Based on previously met requirements, individuals who already hold CIA® are assumed to have met the education and character requirements for any subsequent certification program.
Exam Confidentiality
All specialty certification examinations are nondisclosed. Candidates agree to keep the contents of the exams confidential and therefore may not discuss the specific exam content with anyone except the IIA's Certification Department. Unauthorised disclosure of exam material will be considered a breach of the Code of Ethics and could result in disqualification of the candidate or other appropriate censure.

A candidate agrees to abide by the
Code of Ethics established by the Institute.
Continuing Professional Education
Upon certification, a candidate is required to maintain their knowledge and skills and stay abreast of improvements and current developments.
Eligibility Period
The Institute's approval of a candidate's application and eligibility allows the candidate to participate in a specialty certification program for two years from the date that the application is approved. In addition, each time a candidate sits for the exam, the candidate's eligibility period is extended two years from the date of the last exam date taken.
A candidate's eligibility expires only if the candidate does not take a single exam within any two-year period.
