The CIA® Learning System

The Institute has developed the CIA^® Learning System under the guidance of CIA^® subject matter experts.  The resources, which provide the framework for exam preparation, include printed modules that correspond to the four exams and online learning tools, which provide a review of content and web-based testing.

The online tools include:

• Pre-test offered at the beginning of each part to gauge initial knowledge level and to help set a study plan.
• Section-specific tests to measure comprehension of specific tools.
• Final review test combines all the questions for additional exam practice.

Gleim Publications

Gleim publications have been providing certification preparation resources for over 25 years through books, CDs, audio reviews and more recently an online self-study review program.

Review Books: The Gleim Review books (one for each exam part) explain how to optimise exam scores by analysing how the CIA^® exam is constructed, administered and graded.  They outline all the subject matter tested on each exam part in 40 study units.  The books present multiple-choice questions with answer explanations. 

CDs: The CDs contain up to a thousand questions per exam part.  The software is divided into the same 40 study units as the Gleim Review books and provides hundreds of additional study questions.  The 'Test Prep' allows candidates to access exams to take in test-conditions.

Audio Review:  The Audio Reviews (in CD format) consist of a 25 to 45 minute overview on each of the 40 Gleim study units (10 study units for each exam part).  The purpose of these overviews is to explain the core concepts of each study unit.

Online Course:  This is an interactive, online self-study review program.  Each study unit (10 per exam part) contains - audiovisual presentations, 30 true/false study questions, 10 to 20 pages of knowledge transfer study outlines, and two 20 question multiple-choice quizzes.  Completion times per study unit wil vary from 1 to 5 hours (10 to 50 hours per exam part).
